Simultaneous interpreting is the format you see at major international conferences, EU institutions and large corporate events. The interpreter works in real time, listening to the speaker and delivering the interpretation into the other language with only a few seconds' delay.
Participants follow through headsets, while interpreters work from a soundproof booth at the back of the room.
It is the most seamless format available: the event runs at full pace, no pauses for interpretation. Every participant hears the content in their own language as it happens.

When you book simultaneous interpreting through Czech Interpreters, you are not just hiring an interpreter. You are handing the entire language component of your event to one person who takes responsibility for all of it.

A minimum of two interpreters per language is the professional standard. Simultaneous interpreting is one of the most cognitively demanding tasks. Interpreters work in 20–30 minute rotations to maintain concentration and quality. A single interpreter working alone for hours is a false economy: quality drops sharply after the first hour. We always staff your event correctly.
Do I need a booth?
For in-person events, yes. A soundproof interpreter booth is standard equipment for simultaneous interpreting. It allows the interpreters to speak without being heard by the audience and protects them from background noise. For smaller events or venues where a full booth is not practical, portable alternatives exist. For online events, no booth is needed – interpreters work from their own professional setup.
How far in advance do I need to book?
For large conferences with multiple language pairs, 4–6 weeks in advance is ideal. It gives sufficient time for team selection, equipment logistics and preparation. For smaller events or a single language pair, 2 weeks is usually workable. For urgent requests, get in touch – we will always try to find a solution.
What languages can you cover?
Czech, English and French are my active working languages. For all other language combinations including Russian, German, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Hebrew, Albanian and others I recruit from my personal network of trusted colleagues. If you need a language not listed here, ask.
What is RSI (Remote Simultaneous Interpreting)?
RSI is simultaneous interpreting delivered online, where interpreters connect to your event remotely via a dedicated platform rather than from a physical booth. It is well suited to fully online events and hybrid meetings where participants join from multiple locations. We configure the platform, brief the interpreters and make sure your remote participants have the same quality experience as those in the room.
What information do you need to give me a quote?
Date and duration of the event, location or platform, language combinations required, approximate number of participants, and the subject matter. That is enough for an initial proposal. Exact speaker materials and presentations come later, during preparation.
